Strecke und Landschaft

Entspannung! Der einfachste Abschnitt liegt vor dir, vom Hochharz an den nördlichen Harzrand. Es geht meist bergab auf gut fahrbaren Wegen durch das berühmte Tal der Ilse. Anschließend durchquerst du Ilsenburg und fährst am Nordharzrand weiter zum Jungborn. Hier im Eckertal ganz nahe an der ehemaligen deutsch-deutschen Grenze lag Anfang des 20. Jahrhundert die erste und größte Naturheilanstalt Deutschlands.

From Gelber Brink to Jungborn
14 km and 47 altitude metres await you on this section of the Devil’s Trail.

Route and landscape

Relief! The easiest section is now ahead of you, from the highest areas of the Harz to its northern edge. Most of the route is downhill on easily rideable tracks through the well known valley of the Ilse. At the bottom, you will ride through the town of Ilsenburg and along the northern edge of the Harz to Jungborn. Here, in the Ecker Valley, right next to the former border between East and West Germany, was the location of the first and largest Naturist Clinic in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century.
